About the service
Garden and outdoor lighting installation
Well-placed garden lighting transforms how a garden looks and how it’s used after dark. We install outdoor lighting circuits and fittings to the correct IP ratings for safe, long-lasting outdoor use, from patio and pathway lighting to feature spotlights.

Garden lighting for Hertfordshire homes
We install garden, patio and driveway lighting for homes across Hertfordshire, including St Albans, Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage, Hertford and Harpenden, as well as lighting and power for garden rooms, home offices and outbuildings.
Every outdoor circuit is protected by an RCD, run in suitable armoured or protected cable, and fitted with fittings rated for outdoor use, so it stays safe through Hertfordshire winters.
FAQs
Garden lighting questions
Do I need an electrician for garden lighting?
For mains-powered lighting and outdoor sockets, yes. A new outdoor circuit is notifiable building work, and the cable, protection and fittings all need to suit outdoor conditions. Even low-voltage systems need a safe mains supply for the transformer.
Can you add power to a garden room or shed?
Yes. We regularly install a dedicated supply to garden rooms and outbuildings, with their own consumer unit, sockets and lighting, all certified on completion.
What does IP-rated mean?
The IP rating shows how well a fitting is protected against dust and water. We choose fittings with the right rating for where they’re going, from covered porches to ground-level spotlights.
Can garden lights be dimmable or on a timer?
Yes. We can fit dimmers, timers, dusk-to-dawn sensors or smart controls so your lighting comes on when you want it.
